The fins flare at the tail, the back and the belly, edged in a warm bronze sheen.Over 95 beads fringe every fin. Orange teardrops, acrylic and glass, strung in rows along each curve, each one separated by a small pearl. They hang like coral, like flame, like gills caught mid-breath.Along the back, black rhodium wire loops into open flowers. Wire petals, drawn in one continuous line, no two the same. Pearl sprays sit at their centres.The eye is a yellow bead with a black pupil. A pale pink blossom rests near the pectoral fin. Small amber, red and pearl beads scatter across the body.It measures 21 cm long and 13 cm wide. Large, sculptural, light enough to wear.
